First Time Attendees

We're excited that you're joining us in Seattle, Washington for your first AACRAO Annual Meeting.

The AACRAO Team and your AACRAO-member colleagues are here to help you make the most of your first conference experience so you join us at AACRAO Meetings for years to come.

 FIRST-TIME ATTENDEE CHECKLIST
  • Register for the AACRAO Annual Meeting.  Make the most of your time in Seattle and consider registering for a pre-conference workshop such as "Reg 101/FERPA". You can register for a Pre-Conference workshop at the time you register for the Annual Meeting or you can come back later and add them in the "Manage Registration" section of your registration page.

  • Arrange travel and hotel accommodations.  We encourage you to make your hotel reservations as soon as possible.  The AACRAO group rate is only available until the AACRAO block has sold out, which we expect will happen before the reservation deadline of March 7, 2025.

  • When making your travel plans, plan to attend the Experience AACRAO event on Sunday, March 30, 3:15 - 4:30 p.m.

  • Plan to attend the First-Timer webinars. The "Annual Meeting First-Time Attendee Know Before You Go" webinar is on February 19, 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. ET.

  • Consider registering for the Networking Luncheon on Monday, March 31. This will be a great opportunity to meet other first-time and returning attendees. You can register for the Networking Luncheon at the time you register for the Annual Meeting or you can come back later and add it in the "Manage Registration" section of your registration page.

  • Download the Whova App.  Explore sessions, presenters, and exhibitors.  Create your schedule and start making connections in the Community.  The app is expected to go live in the first week of March, 2025.

  • Connect with your local State & Regional CRAO. Find out if they're hosting a reception while in Seattle and plan to attend.

Attend Experience AACRAO

March 30 | 3:15 - 4:30 PM |By invitation for First-time Annual Meeting attendees

Experience AACRAO is a “college fair” style event intended to introduce first-time Annual Meeting attendees to the many facets of AACRAO. This format fosters meaningful connections and provides practical advice for navigating the Annual Meeting. AACRAO Ambassadors, Caucus Members, Board Members, and AACRAO Staff will be available to share valuable insights on maximizing the conference experience and becoming more involved in the association. Overall, Experience AACRAO serves as an invaluable introduction for newcomers, ensuring they feel welcomed, informed, and prepared to fully engage with AACRAO.
