About the Job

POSITION SUMMARY
AACRAO seeks candidates for a paid part-time intern position for the Division of Education and Member Development. The ideal candidate will be a motivated, active learner with an interest in higher education conference planning, event management, publications, and customer service. AACRAO seeks and encourages diverse applicants.  
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Event Management & Registration

  • Draft registration forms, letters, and other documentation for meeting registrants

  • Update event websites and registration platforms

  • Assist with abstract management and session scheduling

  • Deliver friendly, solution-focused customer service to AACRAO members and meeting attendees via all written and in-person communications

Digital Meeting Resource Management

  • Manage Meeting App Resources to include session agendas, attendee and speaker profiles, corporate sponsors and exhibitor digital booths, session handouts, and session recording resources in the App

  • Assist with communication via the Meeting App to Meeting attendees, presenters, and sponsors

Conference Logistics

  • Assist with organizing packing, and unpacking shipments to conferences/events

  • Assist with managing inventory in the AACRAO office

  • Manage publications receiving shipping, and storage in the AACRAO office under the direction of the AACRAO Publications team

  • Engage with exhibitors and sponsors to asses on-site needs

Departmental Support

  • Assist with digital file management on the Meetings folders on the AACRAO Shared Drive

  • Assist with other office duties and attend meetings as needed

About You

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail are required

  • Strong editing, proofreading skills, planning/organizational skills are required

  • Proficiency in Google, Adobe, and Microsoft Office Suites preferred

  • Experience in Asana and Salesforce preferred

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Must be able to lift up to 35lbs.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for 50% of the time
  • Weekly hours of 20 during normal business hours: 9:00-5:00 p.m. EST Monday-Friday (additional hours may be approved during peak weeks of meeting occurrences)
