Kellye Y. Testy is the president and chief executive officer of the Law School Admission Council, where she leads the organization in its committed efforts to build a more just and prosperous world. Testy joined LSAC after leading the University of Washington School of Law for eight years as the school’s first female dean. She is a nationally sought-after speaker and consultant on legal and higher education, leadership, diversity and access, and corporate law and governance, and has received numerous honors and awards for her teaching, leadership, and service. Testy earned her undergraduate degree in journalism from Indiana University in Bloomington, and her law degree from Indiana University Maurer School of Law—Bloomington. She currently serves on the boards of the Washington Law Institute and LSSSE.

I have 27 years of experience working in an international higher education institution. I have a book chapter entitled The AACRAO International Guide: A Resource for International Education Professionals. I co-presented a webinar on Education in Crisis: The case of Afghanistan. I am currently a member on the taskforce on the CAS transfer guide where revisions to the Transfer Student Services Standards are being reevaluated. I believe that I can contribute to the fields taking into consideration the experience that I have.

About
Dr. Tina DeNeen is the Associate Executive Director for Education and Member Development at AACRAO. DeNeen leads the execution of AACRAO’s professional development strategy, services, and program delivery, to include national educational convenings such as the AACRAO Annual Meeting and the Strategic Enrollment Management Conference. Further, she is responsible for member educational content, including the publication of podcasts, quarterly journals, and AACRAO’s extensive library of guides and authored publications. DeNeen also serves as the Executive Lead for the ASCEND Leadership Development Program, an AACRAO signature initiative designed to prepare mid-level professionals in the competencies required to advance in enrollment management leadership.

Prior to joining AACRAO, Dr. DeNeen served for more than 25 years in various higher education leadership, academic advisement, and adjunct faculty roles at universities in Alabama, Kentucky, Texas, Illinois, and Tennessee. Her portfolio included the typical functions of a University Registrar, along with direct responsibility for student services, enrollment management, veteran student support, transfer student recruitment, and NCAA compliance. As an individual member of AACRAO, DeNeen previously served as Chair of Nominations and Elections, Black Caucus, Professional Access & Equity, and was Program Committee Coordinator providing oversight for AACRAO’S diversity affinity groups.

Dr. DeNeen has more than 25 years of experience in higher education and has maintained focus on reducing equity gaps and identifying and removing administrative barriers for college students. DeNeen holds a doctoral degree in Higher Education Administration from The University of Alabama, and focuses her research on the collegiate experiences of minoritized students. She also holds a master’s degree in Public and Community Health and a bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, both earned at Austin Peay State University.

Dr. DeNeen is the executive division lead responsible for professional development and content delivery with a focus on strategic plan alignment. She maintains overall responsibility for the activities of the Education and Member Development (EMD) Division.

Tricia serves as the Director of Graduate Admissions & Program Evaluations, College of Graduate Studies at San José State University. She began her career in graduate higher education in 2003 and has since expanded her service to lead graduate student initiatives from admissions through graduation. She is currently an Ed.D. student studying Flilipinx American leadership epistemologies.

Dr. Tammy Aagard currently works as a Managing Consultant for AACRAO Consulting. She has over 30 years of experience in higher education. Prior to her current role, she served as Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management and the University of Florida, as well as Registrar at the University of Wyoming. Her portfolio includes experience in enrollment management areas of admissions, academic advising, graduate school, financial aid, and registrar. She also has experience in athletics at Washington State University.

Dr. Aagard has worked extensively with academic and administrative leaders on multiple campuses through her consulting and professional work. Her passions include all areas of enrollment management, strategic planning, and aligning division goals with the mission and goals of the institution.

Dr. Aagard has extensive experience in leadership development and has presented sessions on functional and leadership topics at the institution, state, regional, national, and international levels. Her goals are to give back to the profession she loves by providing information that is actionable and motivating to support the success of individuals and institutions.

Seth Marc Kamen

Seth Marc Kamen (he/him/his) has more than 20 years of experience in higher education, holding leadership positions in undergraduate admissions, transfer, articulation, and community college relations, military student engagement, adult students, prior learning assessment, retention, and curriculum alignment and new program development. He is also experienced in enrollment-related technologies, strategic enrollment planning, implementing process improvements, and providing training and development.

With a special focus on transfer and the non-traditional student, he often writes for and presents for national organizations, including AACRAO, NISTS, TransferNation, CollegeBoard, and CollegeSource. Additionally, he coordinated the AACRAO workgroups that published A Guide to Best Practices: Awarding Transfer and Prior Learning Credit, the Transfer Student and Transfer Institution Bill of Rights, and the Guide to Best Practices: Articulation Agreements. He has been part of planning the AACRAO annual meeting and the technology/transfer summit. He is a past president of the Chesapeake and Potomac Association of Collegiate Registrar and Admissions Officers (CAPACRAO).

He has worked at public two- and four-year institutions, a national association, and a state-system office. He is currently a consultant in private practice. He earned his M.B.A. from the University of Maryland University College (now UMGC) and his B.S. in Sociology from the University of Maryland College Park. He is working on his doctorate in higher education leadership, writing a dissertation focusing on the transfer function.

Associate Professor of Education, University of Southern California

Julie Posselt is Associate Professor of Education at the University of Southern California. Her research examines institutionalized inequities in higher education and STEM disciplines, and organizational efforts toward diversity, equity, and inclusion. Posselt is the author of Inside Graduate Admissions: Merit, Diversity, and Faculty Gatekeeping (Harvard University Press). In 2020 she will release Equity in Science: Representation, Culture, and the Dynamics of Change in Graduate Education (Stanford University Press). Her work has been funded by the National Science Foundation, US Department of Education, Spencer Foundation, and Mellon Foundation.  Today, she directs two NSF- funded research-practice partnerships: the California Consortium for Inclusive Doctoral Education, and the Inclusive Graduate Education Network’s Research Hub. Posselt was honored with a National Academy of Education postdoctoral fellowship to study graduate student mental health, the Association for the Study of Higher Education’s Early Career/ Promising Scholar award, and the American Educational Research Association’s Early Career Award.  She was named one of Forbes Magazine’s 2019 Top Admissions Influencers, and is Associate Editor of the Journal of Higher Education.

At Sunrise, David directs Sunrise’s market research team and has personally traveled to hundreds of Chinese high schools and universities to run events. He received a BA in Political Science from Swarthmore College in 2010 and speaks Mandarin. David is the Managing Partner of Jones, Maresca & McQuade, P.A. with over thirty years of audit, accounting, and income tax experience in both private and public sectors.  David oversees the not for profit practice for the firm.  The firm presently provides audit services to well over 200 organizations each year, and in total has over three hundred not for profit entities as clients, which include tax and outsourcing accounting services clients.

David graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Accounting and is a Certified Public Accountant since 1984.  He has served as a board member for various not-for-profit organizations and has frequent speaking engagements regarding accounting and tax issues facing not-for-profit organizations.  He is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and Maryland Association of CPA’s (MACPA).
