SEM Endorsement Program hosts 2nd “Meet and Greet”

For the second year in a row at a SEM conference, the leaders of the SEM Endorsement Program hosted a gathering of current students, graduates, evaluators, prospective students and AACRAO staff for a networking session. Nearly 20 people attended this reception designed to increase the connections among everyone involved in the Program.  

As SEM-EP’s enrollment has increased, this in-person engagement opportunity facilitates connections among enrollees. Attendees were able to meet fellow classmates, ask questions and learn more about the program and how to maximize the offerings of the SEM conference. Since SEM-EP originated, the SEM conference can be used to fulfill part of the Field Visits component of the curriculum.  Discussions included topics like the field of enrollment management, the capstone requirement, and the new Career Lounge at the conference. Participants in this “meet and greet” session were able to put faces to names, especially since most year-round engagement takes place through the learning management system and monthly chats hosted by AACRAO. SEM-EP has enrolled its largest annual number of students in 2018 since the program began in 2012.
