Learning Opportunities at the Virtual Tech & Transfer Summit

A variety of topics will be covered at this year’s Technology & Transfer Virtual Summit held from July 11 – 13. Attendees will have the opportunity to collaborate, learn, and engage with leading experts in higher education.

For those interested in Veteran, Military or Adult Student Populations:

• Virginia’s Community College System will be presenting, Credits2Careers: Using Technology to help Veterans in their Educational Journey, which will demonstrate how their interactive portal helps students translate the skills they acquired in the military for college credit.

• A session on CPL: History, Benefits, and Future Applications, will be offered to share historical trends and best practices to help influence CPL policy at your institution. 

For those working with transcripts:

• In New Twist on Transcript Evaluations: Embedding Transparency in the Transcript Evaluation Process, one college will share how a new state regulation opened the opportunity to increase support for all transfer students.

• Institutions that use Slate may be interested in Optimizing Slate for Transfer Credit Entry/Evaluations: How Slate Forms Transformed Transfer Credit Evaluations at Montclair State University. 

Interested in DEI initiatives? Learn more by attending one of those sessions:

• A workshop on identifying your own role as a transfer student-focused DEI advocate 

• Identifying factors impacting upward transfer among African American/Black community college students provides findings from a rigorous study of the factors that impact African American students' likelihood of transfer

Are you a data person?

• SPEEDE will be offering multiple sessions on EDX

• Student data and instructional delivery will be discussed in the session Partnering to Improve Teaching Success
