The U.S. Department of Education has announced an extension of the Financial Value Transparency (FVT) and Gainful Employment (GE) reporting.

This extension applies to both the evaluation of Completers Lists and debt reporting for the 2024 cycle. The new reporting deadline is September 30, 2025.

For discussion and peer support, we encourage you to join our Advocacy or AACRAO Registrars community group on Exchange. You can reference information about previous extensions from January and February 2025.

Key Points:

The new deadline provides additional time for institutions that:

  • Were unable to complete reporting by the previous February 18, 2025 deadline.

  • Need to make corrections to previously submitted data, including enrollment data supporting Completers Lists.

Important Notes:

  • The department will not produce any FVT/GE metrics before the new deadline.
  • No enforcement or punitive actions will be taken against institutions that have not completed reporting to date.

  • Completers Lists will be reverted to draft status in National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) by Monday, February 17, 2025.

Next Steps for Your Institution (if applicable):

  • Continue gathering the required data between now and the new deadline.

  • Review any previously submitted data for accuracy.

  • Make necessary corrections to ensure data reliability.

To Access the Updated Completers List:

  • Request the ad hoc report (FVT and GE Completers List Report - GEFVC1) from the NSLDS Reports Tool on the NSLDS Professional Access website.

  • Reports will be delivered to your Student Aid Internet Gateway (SAIG) Destination Point or TG number/mailbox (message class GEFVCMOP from the NSLDS TG Mailbox ‘TG50012’).

  • Reports are available in both fixed-width and Excel formats.
