The Department of Education has reopened the Financial Value Transparency and Gainful Employment (FVT/GE) debt reporting process, extending the deadline to February 18, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. ET. This extension provides additional time for institutions that could not complete their debt reporting by the original January 15, 2025, deadline.

We encourage AACRAO members to join the FVT/GE reporting discussion in our Advocacy or AACRAO Registrars group or generally within the AACRAO Exchange Community. This space provides a valuable opportunity to connect with peers and share experiences related to the reporting process.

Key Points:

  • Completers Lists have been finalized and are being transmitted to calculate median earnings data.

  • National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) has reopened for debt reporting until February 18, 2025.

  • No further extensions will be granted after this date.

  • Institutions that cannot complete reporting by February 18 will need to provide the required data during the next reporting cycle.

  • The Department will implement a standardized process this spring for institutions to submit explanations for non-reporting.

For complete details about this extension, common reporting errors, and other technical guidance, please visit the Federal Student Aid (FSA) website and refer to Electronic Announcement ID GE-25-01.
