Folks, the 2024 AACRAO Technology and Transfer Virtual Summit is less than three weeks away. Why does that matter? Because you matter to us, and we want you there! Every year, the Summit brings approximately 500 people together to focus on technology in higher education and transfer services, creating a dedicated space for AACRAO to offer professional development, community, and connection.

Technology in higher education and the world of transfer may occupy separate spaces on campus, but there are multiple opportunities for intersection that are continuously relevant to the work we do in the higher education industry, and that is why this summit is so important.

So, what’s in it for you? This Technology and Transfer Virtual Summit offers an affordable option, requiring no travel or lodging, where you will:

  • Add to your professional knowledge base with topics you can immediately apply to your workplace or use to build a professional portfolio as part of your career trajectory.

  • Connect with professionals across the nation who are tackling some of the same issues you are at your institution.

  • Gain inspiration to make change happen from where you are.

  • Receive confirmation that you’re on the right track or that it’s time to adapt and adjust.

  • Be part of a collective that knows exactly what you’re talking about.

  • Have access to all of the session recordings for 60 days following the Summit.

I highly recommend that you register immediately if you have not done so already. You need to be here.

This is a virtual Summit. It’s easy to fall into certain pitfalls that can take away from the experience. There are ways that you can ensure you can be present as much as possible. In the next few weeks, as you prepare for the virtual summit, block time on your calendar so you can focus on the content of each session by limiting distractions. Find a space where you can close your door or use earbuds to avoid interruptions. Be intentional about engagement and make space for attending so that you won’t focus on your regular job and just “check in” to the summit from time to time. Sessions will be recorded and available for a limited time after the summit concludes. BUT, it’s essential to be in the moment to interact live with the presenters and attendees. Use the recordings as reminders of what you heard in real-time or for backup when you have no option but to miss a session.

There is still time to register. Get ready to have a great time.
