fafsa calendar information

Beginning on Oct. 1, 2016, students will be able to fill out the FAFSA for the 2017–18 school year. (In the past, they had to wait until January 1). In addition, applicants will no longer need to estimate income and tax information and will be able to retrieve their data directly from the IRS, right from the first day the FAFSA is available. Students also will have information about their Expected Family Contributions earlier, helping them as they’re going through the college application and selection process.

Transfer & Articulation Community of Practice Forum

August 30, 2024

August 30, 2024 | 3:00-4:00 pm ET
With increased student mobility comes a greater demand for our community to come together to support each other in the often complex and varied world of transfer. In response to this demand, AACRAO's Transfer & Articulation committee is hosting an open community of practice call where any member of the AACRAO community can engage to discuss current issues or trends related to transfer credit, PLA, or articulation.

This is an open call to participate, whether you are new to transfer credit or a seasoned veteran. We welcome anyone interested in this topic area to help provide answers to questions membership has on their minds or discuss hot topics that are impacting our campuses today.

Topic - Unlocking Opportunities: Enhancing Military Credit Recognition at EKU

Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) is a vital tool for acknowledging and rewarding the skills and experience our students bring to the table. At Eastern Kentucky University, we've long awarded military credit but saw opportunities to refine our approach and better serve our students. This session will explore the evolution of our military credit process, from our early methods to the development of key resources that clearly outline potential credits for incoming students based on military occupation. Join me as I delve into our journey, including the integration of Banner, TES, and our custom-built "VETSReady Opportunity Portal." I look forward to sharing insights and lessons learned as we work towards a more seamless, student-centered experience.
