Beginning on Oct. 1, 2016, students will be able to fill out the FAFSA for the 2017–18 school year. (In the past, they had to wait until January 1). In addition, applicants will no longer need to estimate income and tax information and will be able to retrieve their data directly from the IRS, right from the first day the FAFSA is available. Students also will have information about their Expected Family Contributions earlier, helping them as they’re going through the college application and selection process.

Welcome Corps on Campus: Information Session for AACRAO Members

December 14, 2023

December 14, 2023 | 2:00 - 3:00 PM ET

Join AACRAO for an information session on the Welcome Corps on Campus, a historic program launched in July 2023 by the U.S. Department of State to allow U.S. higher education institutions and their stakeholders to welcome and enroll refugee students on their campuses. The Welcome Corps on Campus leverages the capacity of U.S. higher education institutions to serve as resettlement spaces, provide academic opportunities for refugee students, foster more diverse and inclusive campuses, and create a sustainable opportunity for colleges and universities to welcome refugee students on their campuses. By attending this session, AACRAO members will:

  • Understand the context of refugee students and why the Welcome Corps on Campus is needed;
  • Understand an overview of the Welcome Corps on Campus program;
  • Know where and how to access resources, tools and information about the Welcome Corps on Campus;

This webinar was made possible in collaboration with the Welcome Corps on Campus Consortium partners.
