fafsa calendar information

Beginning on Oct. 1, 2016, students will be able to fill out the FAFSA for the 2017–18 school year. (In the past, they had to wait until January 1). In addition, applicants will no longer need to estimate income and tax information and will be able to retrieve their data directly from the IRS, right from the first day the FAFSA is available. Students also will have information about their Expected Family Contributions earlier, helping them as they’re going through the college application and selection process.

How to Unlock a Seamless Degree Clearance Process

April 27, 2022

Free Webinar | 2:00-3:00 pm ET

For most institutions, the degree clearance process is a relic of a time when universities lacked the tracking capabilities that today’s technology is able to provide. While we’ve made strides in tracking a student’s progress toward their degree, many institutions have not adjusted their administrative processes around the modern degree audit in order to streamline their work.

Join Doug McKenna, University Registrar at George Mason, as he shares insights on how his team is transforming the degree clearance process across campus, ensuring both students and administrators are fully informed each step of the way towards degree completion.

Key takeaways will include:

  • How to efficiently handle substitutions, exceptions, and student plan reviews, which are often barriers to degree clearance processing
  • How enhancing your degree audit can eliminate administrative work and improve student transparency
  • How to identify the right stakeholders to champion the move towards modern processes
