fafsa calendar information

Beginning on Oct. 1, 2016, students will be able to fill out the FAFSA for the 2017–18 school year. (In the past, they had to wait until January 1). In addition, applicants will no longer need to estimate income and tax information and will be able to retrieve their data directly from the IRS, right from the first day the FAFSA is available. Students also will have information about their Expected Family Contributions earlier, helping them as they’re going through the college application and selection process.

Webinars

The ABCs of LGBTQIA+

June 22, 2021

Free Webinar | 2:00-3:00 pm ET

This webinar is open to all members of AACRAO, whether a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, an ally, or someone who seeks to understand. Participants will learn a little about history, flags, and symbols; find out what all those letters stand for; recognize the importance of pronouns and preferred names; and come to a better understanding of terms like non-binary, gender fluid, pansexual, cisgender, etc.

The purpose of this webinar is not to try to find ways to label people, but rather, to help us navigate the language that people use so that we can better understand and be sensitive to everyone's needs.  Participants will also learn more about how this is relevant to the work we do and how we can be supportive of our students who identify as LGBTQIA+.  This will include opportunities to make your campus more welcoming but also to build community into the university’s diversity, equity, and inclusion strategy.
