Since its founding in 1919, the Institute of International Education (IIE) has conducted an annual census of international students in the United States. Open Doors has long been regarded as the comprehensive information resource on international students and scholars in the United States and on U.S. students studying abroad.

Open Doors would not be the complete and comprehensive data source on international education it is without your participation. The deadlines for the Open Doors 2023 International Student Census and U.S. Study Abroad Survey deadlines are quickly approaching. AACRAO encourages our members to participate in these surveys to increase our understanding of international education exchange in the United States.

Take the Survey

The deadline to complete the U.S. Study Abroad Survey is Wednesday, April 19, 2023, and the deadline to complete the International Student Census is Thursday, April 27, 2023.

If your higher education institution did not receive information about the surveys, wants to verify that you have completed the surveys, needs to update contact information, or has any other questions, please contact the Open Doors team at opendoors@iie.org.

Complete the Open Doors Surveys

AACRAO and IIE appreciate your ongoing support of Open Doors. The Open Doors report would not be the complete and comprehensive data source on international education without your participation. We thank you for your consideration of this request.
