About the Job

POSITION SUMMARY

The Impact & Engagement Department is responsible for the management of member engagement and provides reporting, data, and business analyses on association offerings. The team uses data, technology, and analytics to optimize the association's performance in the market.

The Associate Director, Data Visualization prepares, analyzes, and documents reports for management and various stakeholders across the association. They ensure accuracy while identifying insights and trends to support decision-making.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Collaborate with Management and Executive Team to produce advanced, interactive reports as required utilizing current managerial reporting platforms
  • Transform low-hygiene data sets to develop organized databases with high fidelity
  • Make recommendations to Management based on data analysis and interpretation
  • Support strategic management with organization-wide approaches to performance measurement and monitoring (PMM), including both association-wide strategy as well as program-specific implementation
  • Design, build, and analyze related member surveys using survey software to inform the execution of association projects and events
  • Provide coaching, support, and leadership on a variety of measurement and monitoring topics to build organizational capacity in performance measurement & monitoring, evaluation, and database usage.
  • Conduct analyses and generate data to support association initiatives, program planning, and external contract/funder reporting needs
  • Act as liaison to transform key insights from program evaluation activities into meaningful program performance indicators aligned with association priorities, giving special attention to the interplay between data and the business processes that produce it and the decision-makers that consume insights
  • Perform audience research in coordination with Director, Marketing & Communication to learn about and inform audience personas
  • Support Associate Executive Director, Strategy and Planning to ensure the Impact and Engagement team has a clear understanding of project plans
  • Ensure the Impact and Engagement team is kept abreast of any updates or changes to the plan as the engagement progresses
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to work autonomously and exercise good judgment in the identification of critical tasks, setting priorities, and serving the needs of the association, including the ability to lead projects and move work forward
  • Experience designing rich graphic visualizations for modular design of dashboards and developing user interfaces or dashboards, including metrics, filters, charts, graphs, and tables. Knowledge of various reporting objects, including facts, attributes, hierarchies, filters, calculated fields, sets, groups, or parameters
  • Knowledge of advanced data wrangling, from data discovery to cleaning, structuring, and validating; ability to gather, analyze data, and problem-solve
  • Exemplary and proven organizational, customer service, and communication skills
  • Team player with the ability to interact appropriately with all internal and external colleagues
  • Knowledge of Asana, G Suite products, Zoom, and other current technologies to help improve efficiency and productivity

About You

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or other business-related field
  • 2 - 4 years of experience in Tableau, SQL, QlikSense, and/or PowerBI for dashboarding purposes
  • Experience in higher education administration or academic programs preferred
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimal travel for business purposes may be required as needed and varies depending on the business need. If required, travel will include local and national opportunities with advanced notice

  • Salary range for this position is $85,000 to $115,000
