AACRAO statement on accountability for George Floyd's life

April 21, 2021

AACRAO applauds the verdict of the jury in the trial of police officer Derek Chauvin for the murder of George Floyd. In a case that reignited a movement across the country and the world, we are both relieved and hopeful to see this level of accountability finally demonstrated. George Floyd’s life mattered.

While there is cause to celebrate the verdict, the fight for racial justice in America is nowhere near won. AACRAO will continue to work with all those who seek to create a fair and just society where equity, diversity, and inclusion are fully supported and celebrated.
