Congress Confirms President-Elect Biden's Win After Mob Storms Capitol

Congress confirmed President-elect Joe Biden's victory early Thursday morning, after the normally ceremonial ritual exploded into chaos as a mob stormed and occupied the U.S. Capitol building.

AACRAO is shocked and saddened by yesterday's attack on our democracy. We support the right to assemble and protest. However, this was not a protest and we condemn the violent and brazen acts that endangered lives as well as our democratic values and procedures. 

We are heartened by the safe completion of the counting of electoral votes and look forward to a peaceful transition of power.
