Margit Schatzman of Educational Credential Evaluators, Inc. has been appointed by the TAICEP Board of Directors to serve the remaining term of President following the resignation for personal reasons of Natasha Sawh of the Canadian Information Centre for International Credentials. Sawh has confirmed that she will continue to provide ongoing commitment to the association. Schatzman will complete the current term on December 31, 2017.
Schatzman praised Sawh for her leadership and vision. "Natasha has provided enthusiastic support from the start. Under her guidance, services to the membership have blossomed, membership has grown to 200, conference attendance has doubled and she has set the stage for a fantastic conference in Rome in September. The Board of Directors and association membership join me in thanking Natasha Sawh for building a strong and vibrant organization."
As TAICEP’s past president from 2014-2015, Schatzman was committed to addressing the needs of the profession. Her vision allowed TAICEP to focus on providing resources, while establishing and promoting standards for the profession and advocating for members as they serve internationally-educated individuals from around the world. Under her leadership, TAICEP held its first annual conference in 2015 in Toronto, Canada hosting over 100 attendees, setting a precedent for a second successful annual conference in Chicago last year.
"As TAICEP’s new president, I will continue to advocate and support the needs of our profession. TAICEP will focus on establishing a certification program for credential evaluators, which will be a game-changer for our profession and the first of its kind when implemented. In addition, we will be working on expanding our reach to credential evaluators from several regions around the world to secure TAICEP’s position as a global network of credential evaluation professionals," said Schatzman.
TAICEP will be hosting its third annual conference in Rome, Italy from September 5-7. The annual conference is the premier professional development opportunity for international credential evaluation professionals. For more information, visit www.taicep.org.
