As of August 6th, only one-third of the institutions that received military Tuition Assistance last year (2013) appear on the Participating List of Institutions that have signed the revised version of the DoD Voluntary Education Partnership Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). In order to continue participating in the DoD Tuition Assistance program after September 5, all institutions must submit and sign an MOU confirming their commitment to the program. For the most current list of participating institutions, visit: www.dodmou.com.
Institutions that plan to participate but have not yet submitted a Department of Defense Verification Application, are encouraged do so as soon as possible to avoid Tuition Assistance problems for servicemembers enrolled this fall. If your institution has already submitted your DoD MOU Verification Application, kindly disregard this message.
Failure to complete all steps in the MOU verification and approval process by September 5th could result in loss of tuition assistance funding for institutions on September 6th. The MOU signing process requires that Department of Defense personnel verify and approve the completed Verification Application before Tuition Assistance will be approved. Currently the application processing, verification, and approval process can take 7-10 days from initial date of application submission.
