Listening to Darla Cooper speak about student support, I was moved to re-examine my daily interactions with students and with my colleagues.

What are we doing to enrich student experiences in the six success factors identified by this compelling research?  How can we help provide opportunities and structure for students to follow a directed, focused path toward their goals?  Does the work I do help students feel nurtured, engaged, connected, and valued?  How much do I model and project behaviors that will support students and foster their success?

I appreciate Darla’s challenge to consider these things in our daily interactions with students, to be intentional in the services we provide - regardless of our specific jobs – and to remember that we all have an important role to play in teaching students how to succeed!  They are watching, even when we think they aren’t.
