CUPA-HR (College and University Professional Association for Human Resources) invites all AACRAO members and higher education professionals to attend their upcoming webinar "Meeting the Needs of Higher Education Through Trauma-Informed Leadership." This webinar, presented by Dr. Jason Lynch, addresses the multiple crises and mental health challenges higher-ed institutions face.

Topics for discussion during this webinar include looking at how to deepen leadership skills by incorporating trauma-informed care. Specifically, attendees learn how to:

  • Define traumatic stress and describe the multiple ways in which trauma may be experienced within higher education
  • Discuss the body’s trauma response system’s impact on human behavior and psychology.
  • Reframe problematic employee issues through a trauma-informed lens.
  • Integrate elements of trauma-informed care into their leadership practice

Register to attend this webinar on Thursday, May 12 at 1:00 p.m.

CUPA-HR also invites AACRAO members to participate in a survey of higher ed professionals examining why employees in higher ed may be looking for new employment opportunities. This survey intends to gather actual data to help us understand where we need to make progress in our recruitment and retention efforts.

You can help CUPA-HR in this research by:

The CUPA-HR Employee Retention Survey launches on May 2 and closes on May 20.
All higher-ed employees (full-time, part-time, exempt, non-exempt) who are not faculty may participate.

The survey takes about 10 minutes to complete.
It asks several questions about the respondent’s job and aspects of the job the respondent is either satisfied or dissatisfied with. The questions may cause respondents to think momentarily, but none pose any psychological risk. These are questions they have likely thought about already.

All responses are entirely confidential.
All responses to this survey are reported in aggregate. Therefore, the information provided is not associated with the respondent’s specific institution, and identifying information is not associated with responses.

After the survey closes, CUPA-HR will share the overall results and results specific to our area of the workforce. The more participation we can get, the more reliable this data will be.
