The four-year undergraduate program (FYUP) received final approval from the University of Delhi's Executive Council on May 9, 2013. The Academic Council of the university had previously approved the plan. The FYUP is now set to begin with the 2013-14 academic year.

The FYUP includes a new multiple degree option.┬" While students entering the new structure will be encouraged to complete the full four-year program, it will be possible to leave after the second year and the third year with a completion credential. There had been discussion about calling the second-year credential an associate baccalaureate,┬" and this terminology is found on some of the literature about the program. The final decision about credential nomenclature was as follows:

Diploma, awarded after the second year

Bachelor with a major, awarded after the third year

Bachelor Honours or B.Tech., awarded after the fourth year

The University of Delhi's Web site provides extensive information about the FYUP.
