AACRAO is pleased to announce Irlanda Gonzalez-Price, associate vice-president of student affairs at Vancouver IslandUniversity (VIU), will be joining the SEM Quarterly Editorial Board this month. “The quality of SEMQ continues to grow higher and higher, bolstered by the exceptional scholars on our Editorial Board,” said Dr. Tom Green, SEMQ’s Editor-in-Chief. “We are thrilled to have Ms. Gonzalez-Price join the Board
and we know our Board and our readers will greatly benefit from her scholarship and many years of experience in SEM.”
Gonzalez-Price’s career spanning nearly 20 years has been dedicated to the many areas of student development. As a committed SEM educator, Gonzalez-Price has led the development of SEM plans at multiple institutions and currently serves as a member
of the SEM leadership team at VIC. She has also developed and implemented several major campus initiatives resulting in improved access for underrepresented and diverse groups. In addition, Gonzalez-Price is a regular conference presenter and author.
“I am excited to join the SEM Quarterly Editorial Board for a number of reasons,” she said. “I look forward to learning from and contributing to the publications of articles that will undoubtedly continue to impact how SEM informs
best practice for postsecondary institutions. From a Canadian perspective, I know we rely heavily on the articles and best practices shared by our American colleagues and am extremely eager to work with our Canadian institutions to produce more articles
with a Canadian lens.”
SEMQ also thanks outgoing Editorial Board member Morgan Blair, of Medicine Hat College, for three years of service.
“Morgan has shared her valuable time and expertise in reviewing many SEMQ submissions,” said Managing Editor Heather Zimar. “Her input has directly impacted the quality of articles and the journal overall. We appreciate her hard
work and wish her the best.”
