"Field Notes" is a regular Connect column covering practical and philosophical issues facing admissions and registrar professionals. Various AACRAO members author the columns. If you have an idea for a column and would like to contribute, please email the editor at communications@aacrao.org.

This July 12-14, AACRAO hosts its annual Technology and Transfer Summit. This virtual event focuses on defining the emerging
student as it relates to technology and transfer. More specifically, how our profession meets the needs of the student looking to combine experience, prior learning, prior credit, and workforce development onto a path towards a goal. Transfer best
practices and technology are at the center of these critical conversations, and we want you to share.
The Value in Presenting
We need your voice and experience at the (virtual) table.
We have all had many moments of feeling disconnected and then reconnected in so many ways during the last few years. We have pivoted how we move through our workday and the profession and learned how important technology is to connect with others who
share the same drive and passion. That is why presenting at this event is essential – it showcases the value of connecting with your colleagues to share the best practices that directly impact the student. The reality is the conversation related
to technology and transfer is happening at all levels: national, regional, and local. This virtual event is designed to connect those from across the nation to share, learn from each other, make connections and establish relationships in the field.
Submitting A Session Proposal
The most beneficial professional development event is one designed to be an inclusive program that aligns with our competencies and learning outcomes. Therefore,
we are encouraging those from all institution types to submit a session or roundtable proposal – community colleges, public and public institutions, system schools, technology and trade schools, and many more. Reflect on your experience
and your institution’s initiatives, and consider submitting a proposal for this event.
