Dear Readers,
As institutions face budget cuts and hiring freezes in the face of increasing demands, we are caught in the tension between mobility—our need to keep our communities and systems moving—and inertia—the barrier to action. In Latin, “mobilis” means easily movable, while "iners" means without skill or inactivity.
Yet our community is far from still. Sessions are led, committees are formed, letters are written, and people are impacted by practitioners and vendors who show inventiveness, partnership, and clarity of purpose. I infused these article descriptions with names and institutions so that you can find them more easily in the conference app, our website, web search, or LinkedIn. Reach out. Form alliances. Ask for help. Lend a hand. We’ll need each other to keep moving forward—skillfully—through the uncertainty ahead.
A sincere thanks to the practitioner-writers who contributed to covering these live sessions, one of whom contributed for the very first time. Shout out to College & University Journal, which recruited 100 new writers in less than 100 days. Are you next for Connect?
