Calendar with the pages representing months flying by. For the past several months, AACRAO's Board of Directors has been actively reviewing and revising AACRAO's annual Leadership Meeting, changing the timing as well as the format and focus.

Honing in on best practices. The AACRAO Leadership Meeting brings together association leaders, including the Board of Directors, professional activities committee (PAC) chairs, work group chairs, and others in leadership roles within AACRAO, to build leadership skills together and to collaborate in large and small groups on ways to operationalize the AACRAO Strategic Plan.

In addition, the Board of Directors and AACRAO staff will discuss big-picture issues, including the AACRAO strategic plan, challenges facing higher education, AACRAO core competencies, and leadership skill development; the State and Regional attendees will have dedicated time to learn association management best practices, and PAC chairs will assess and slot sessions for the 2019 Annual Meeting.

180-degree calendar (and 50-degree temperature) shift. Starting this year (2018), the meeting will move from December to June, to avoid the ever-present concern about inclement weather hampering travel to and from Washington, D.C. The timing also allows for more opportunities for conference participants to see some of the local attractions during the longer summer days.
