AACRAO Coffee Breaks will be held weekly on Fridays at 2 p.m. (ET). Topics will vary week to week, all focused on providing guidance and resources to our members during this time of uncertainty due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
AACRAO kicked off our inaugural Coffee Break last Friday, March 28. With all of the changes around both distance learning and working, our leadership felt that it was imperative to provide guidance to our members. The topic for the first AACRAO

Led by AACRAO Board members Kristi Wold-McCormick, Tim Amyx, and Stan DeMerritt, this one hour long free webinar discussed different institutional responses to the COVID-19 outbreak and move to online learning for institutions.
Some takeaways include:
Pass/fail: Institutions are handling this each differently, with some adopting the system for all students, and others giving students the option of opting in if they choose. For example, South Plains University is not moving to pass/fail, but
instead is considering the processes and systems to support a heavier appeal load than normal.
Student need: From mental health support to food insecurity, institutions are now being more vigilant than ever in how they can support their students. Consider donating to Second Harvest Food Bank to support students in need.
