The E┬" in SEM stands for enrollment,┬" but SEM extends far beyond enrollment principles.

Decisions made by the enrollment team influence everything else in the system,┬" said Ange Peterson, Associate Vice President, University of Central Florida, and past president of AACRAO (2007). It's important that the enrollment team learn to think at that strategic level, to see how their actions can support the overarching goals of the institution.┬"

The 8th annual SEM Executive Symposium, held on November 10, 2013, offers executive level professionals”including college and university chancellors, presidents, board members, provosts, and chief enrollment management officers”a chance to discuss how to use SEM as an organizing framework for a broad array of issues, such as curriculum planning, classroom utilization and enrollment projections. Those who are new to SEM will be introduced to its core concepts and develop a plan for implementation.

Peterson  has attended the symposiums since their inception. The great value of the symposium, she notes, is the opportunity to dig in to the high-level policy issues and to engage the most recent relevant research to develop new ideas around SEM.

Afterwards, Symposium attendees are encouraged to register for the full SEM Conference, the leading meeting of higher education professionals focused on achieving student, enrollment, and financial success.

Please note:  For the upcoming Executive Symposium at the 2013 SEM conference, we plan to limit attendance to the first 50 registered executives.  It is our goal to have a more focused forum at which participants can meet and fully engage with one another and the presenters. We recommend that you register early, since last year's symposium reached full capacity weeks before the start of the SEM Conference.
