The EducationUSA Academy is a short-term academic summer program that provides three-to-four weeks of English language courses, college preparatory content, tours of diverse colleges and universities, and cross-cultural activities to self-funded 15- to 17-year-old students from around the world.  Students will receive an overview of secondary and higher education systems in the United States and the U.S. college/university admissions process, develop critical thinking and leadership skills, and participate in enriching cultural and social activities. The long-term goal of the EducationUSA Academy is to generate an interest in U.S. higher education among international high school students who may not have considered undergraduate study in the United States.

World Learning is pleased to be partnering with the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs to implement the Academy. They are seeking applications from prospective hosts with the capacity to:

·         Host one or two cohorts of approximately 20 youth (ages 15-17);

·         Deliver high-quality English language instruction and college preparatory content;

·         Organize visits to diverse colleges and universities; and

·         Provide integrated cultural programming.

Hosts will establish a competitive per student price of between $4,000 and $6,000 and conduct worldwide student recruitment that utilizes the EducationUSA network as well as the institution’s own resources.

We hope you will consider applying to become an EducationUSA Academy host. The deadline for submission is October 20, 2015. For more details, please visit the EducationUSA Academy webpage or contact World Learning directly at: edusaacademy@worldlearning.org with any questions.
