How do you create opportunities for students to say It just feels right┬" when they visit your campus? Campus visits remain an extraordinarily important step in a recruitment cycle. For many, a visit will determine whether or not they apply for admission. For others, returning for a second or third visit helps them make a difficult final choice among two or three favorites.

Here are a few tips from AACRAO's Sharing the Campus Experience: Hosting Effective Campus Visits.

1. Set up online tours. These should not just recreate in-person visits, but should offer visitors options of where to start and introduce students and faculty through text and video contact.
2. Showcase your institution's unique identity. Use storytelling and interactive features in your campus visits to build an appealing and accurate picture of your school.
3. Learn from schools that do it well. Read case studies about schools that have successfully implemented effective campus visits. Sharing the Campus Experience: Hosting Effective Campus Visits includes case studies from three success stories: a career-focused institution, a Catholic liberal arts university and a large public university.
