This conversation, moderated by the Institute of International Education, will foster discussion about how we can work together to promote international student mobility.
Caroline Casagrande, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Academic Programs in the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Exchanges (ECA) at the U.S. Department of State, will speak about topics including:
- the State Department’s commitment to promoting U.S. higher education overseas and maintaining America’s leadership as the top destination for international students.
- ECA’s work in partnering with U.S. college and university leaders, higher education associations, and exchange organizations.
- useful resources and services available to U.S. higher education institutions through the State Department’s EducationUSA network in more than 180 countries.
- how international student mobility is an important contributor to American leadership in research and innovation, economic prosperity, and diplomatic relations worldwide.
Casagrande will be joined by Lauren Armenise, a U.S. visas expert with the Department of State’s Bureau of Consular Affairs, who will outline the visa process and the commitment of the Department of State to facilitating the travel of qualified international students.
