Open Doors is a comprehensive information resource on international students and scholars at higher education institutions in the United States, and U.S. students studying abroad. Information from AACRAO membership helps support the robust data set that underlies these reports. Your institution's participation is helpful.

"Open Doors would not be the complete and comprehensive data source on international education without [AACRAO's] partnership in reaching out to the thousands of colleagues at higher education institutions across the United States," said Julie Baer, Research Specialist at IIE.

The 2019 Open Doors International Student Census and U.S. Study Abroad Survey are now available here. The compilation of data published in Open Doors is only possible with the assistance of international education and other higher education professionals at institutions throughout the United States.

The International Student Census captures information on international students enrolled in U.S. colleges and universities in Fall 2018. The deadline to complete the International Student Census is Thursday, March 14, 2019.

The U.S. Study Abroad Survey collects data on U.S. students studying abroad for academic credit from Fall 2017 through Summer 2018. The deadline to complete the Study Abroad Survey is Wednesday, March 20, 2019.

If your institution did not receive information about the surveys, would like to participate in the surveys, or needs to update contact information, please contact IIE
