The first virtual EDGE User Group, held on Thursday, September 24th, was a success. More than 150 users joined the meeting to hear about the latest developments and ask questions of the IESC and the EDGE team.

EDGE User groups are one of the newest additions to the suite of services available to AACRAO EDGE subscribers. These free forums will be held virtually each month and will provide users with opportunities to network with each other and provide AACRAO with valuable feedback on how to best support our subscribers with the product.

Participants in the first user group were primarily institution-based colleagues, as well as a few professionals from evaluation services.

We found that the majority of users in the first user group were excited about the emergent news and country updates but had not yet begun using the bookmark feature that allows users to bookmark the countries that they are most interested in.  By bookmarking a country, you receive a notification at the top of your screen if there have been any updates or alerts the next time you log in. We anticipate that this feature will become very popular.

Another development in the new EDGE is a change in the user agreement that allows EDGE users to take a screenshot of a placement recommendation if properly attributed. This change has been requested by users from law firms, who often need to attribute the EDGE placement recommendation in an evaluation for employment visa applications sent to USCIS. For more information on this change, see the FAQs.

Want to learn more about what we are working on for AACRAO EDGE? Join us at the next user group meeting on Tuesday October 20th.
