The COVID-19 pandemic has forced many of you to reassess your work processes and create new methods to complete your daily responsibilities as we all have moved to remote working. Notwithstanding, some aspects of the registrars' responsibilities, like the 60 day roster reporting to the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) is still being required by the U.S. Education Department.  Luckily, the department is providing institutions with more flexibility to meet this reporting requirement and AACRAO would like to ensure that our members are aware of this flexibility.

If you find that NSLDS reporting is proving to be too difficult due to technical limitations, institutions can apply to the department for a waiver to the Federal Student Aid's (FSA) Enrollment Reporting Requirements that require you to report updated enrollment status information every 60 days. Institutions can contact NSLDS directly and request a waiver for a short period of time.  If you believe your institution might require a waiver, institutions should call the department directly at 1.800.999.8219 and speak with one of their representatives. Remember to obtain a ticket number referencing your request.

We hope that this information is helpful and we continue to wish all AACRAO members our best wishes during these uncertain times.
