In the last year Cambridge International has launched several projects to support U.S. higher education and our Cambridge schools. As demand for Cambridge International curriculum and exams has grown in U.S. K-12 schools, so has the need to expand data and services to U.S. higher education. Our recent updates include research into student subsequent course performance; the online transcript service for U.S. higher education; state and system policy updates; and new webpages for colleges and universities. Join us Thursday, November 12, 1-2 pm ET at AACRAO to learn more.

Subsequent Course Performance Study

This spring, Cambridge International began a subsequent course performance study with Florida State University. The university provided us with end-of-year results for students who had been given credits for introductory courses from their Cambridge International AS & A Level exam grades. The results are overwhelmingly positive; Cambridge International students outperformed their peers in all subjects.

We analyzed the grades obtained between 2016 and 2019 by 2419 Cambridge International alumni in their subsequent advanced, university courses. We looked at six main subject groups: biology, business, English, history, math, and psychology.

We compared these grades to the grade distributions of the entire university’s cohort on the same courses to see how Cambridge International students performed having been given credits for introductory courses.

Cambridge International alumni achieved passing grades at a higher rate than the average and achieved an A or B in most of the courses they enroll in. We’ll be sharing a more in-depth look at the data at our November 12 AACRAO session.

Online Transcripts

U.S. institutions can now receive U.S. student grade transcripts online. Online transcript delivery is currently available for U.S. students sending grades to U.S. institutions, but will soon be rolled out to students and institutions around the world. Join us for a preview of this service and information on signing up to receive transcripts online.

Website

Our November 12 presentation will also include a preview of our new website for U.S. higher education institutions. Our website provides one convenient place to learn about our courses and exams, how to receive grade transcripts, and state and institution policies. In addition, we now have a convenient online form to contact the U.S. Cambridge International higher education team.

New Policies

Several states and institutions in the U.S. have instituted new policies for achievement in AS & A Level exams. The Mississippi Institutions of Higher Learning, the University of North Carolina, and Washington state’s public two- and four-year colleges and universities have new admission and credit policies effective fall 2020 for AS & A Level exams.

Join us Thursday, November 12, 1-2 pm ET to get these updates and the latest news from the U.S. Cambridge International team.
