Url :

The July Book Club is July 27 at 2 p.m. ET. Join hosts Carolyn Gentle-Genitty and Jacquelyn Rogers as they discuss The Transfer Experience: A Handbook for Creating a More Equitable and Successful Postsecondary System.

How to Read the Book

For folks just diving in, tackling the handbook may be daunting. Carolyn and Jacqui break down how to approach reading the material:

Forward | Table of Contents | Conclusions and Recommendations | Then “gap fillers” in knowledge

You can further break down the book into four parts.

Part 1: The Context of Transfer

Entailing four chapters, this covers the student experience, the process of enrollment, and anything readers need to know to set the backdrop for understanding the transfer experience.

Part 2: Transfer: Pathways, Transitions, and Supports

Covering seven chapters, this section discusses how enrollment functions within transfer, and what supports are needed to ensure completion.

Part 3: Teaching and Learning

Learn about the completion aspect in four chapters.

Part 4: Transfer Case Studies

Real-life examples span these two chapters. The one common denominator is everyone must be part of the same strategic plan to hold on to transfer students from beginning to end. Teamwork is the key.

Get your copy of The Transfer Experience: A Handbook for Creating a More Equitable and Successful Postsecondary System, and register for the discussion today.
