On January 21, 2025, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) issued a directive that rescinded the “sensitive locations” policy which had prohibited Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) enforcement action to take place at hospitals, churches, courthouses, and college campuses. This new policy states that ICE and Customs and Border Protection (CBP) can take enforcement actions at educational institutions, unless exigent circumstances exist.
