Preparing for the FAFSA: Round 2
The September AACRAO Collective will be an opportunity to talk about lessons learned from the 2024-25 financial aid cycle, and how those lessons can help us manage expectations and workflows for the upcoming year.
The delayed rollout of the 2024-25 FAFSA was plagued with errors, creating issues for students, families, and colleges across the nation. Financial aid offices are still dealing with the fallout, as the launch of the form ultimately delayed financial aid packaging and disbursements to students.
The Education Department has announced the release of the 2025-26 FAFSA will also be delayed, with an anticipated release in December 2024.
(Note: this session will focus on communication and preparation, not the methodology of awarding aid.)
