Accreditation versus recognition: two meaningful terms in the realm of foreign credentials. How do these apply to the more than 50 “state-less” medical schools in the Caribbean?
This webinar will give an overview of the publication “Offshore Medical Schools in the Caribbean'' authored by Rosalie Hancock and Loida González Utley, AACRAO International Education Standards Council (IESC) fellows.
The report provides an in-depth explanation of accreditation and other agencies that grant recognition to offshore medical schools, many of which do not follow the educational system of their host countries. Data from the the results of their research,
conducted under the auspices of AACRAO’s IESC fellowship program, will be presented as well as insights into the project and opportunities for future IESC fellowship applicants.
