David L. Roy serves as the Director for Academic Relations, Competitive Admissions, and Access and Diversity in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at The Ohio State University. In this role, he is responsible for providing strategic leadership for the application review process for domestic and international new first year applicants for Ohio State University’s Columbus campus. He also provides senior leadership for the strategic partnership between Undergraduate Admissions and Ohio State’s academic colleges. In addition, David direct efforts to increase the recruitment and enrollment of underrepresented minorities, first-generation and low-income students as well the training and development of Admissions staff specific to access and diversity best-practices.
Prior to his current role, he served as Director for the Diversity Services Office in the College of Arts and Sciences at Ohio State. In that role, he directed recruitment, orientation and advising activities for minority students as well as initiatives designed to assist with minority student retention and graduation.
David has twenty years of higher education experience in enrollment management, diversity, advising, recruitment and retention. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Sciences and Sociology from the University of Southwestern Louisiana, a master’s degree in African American and African Studies from The Ohio State University. He is an alum of The College Board’s Enrollment Leadership Academy.
