Overview
Saint Pierre and Miquelon is a set of two islands just east of Canada. These islands were first settled in the 17th century by France. They are the last remaining vestige of France's once great claim in North America. French is the official language. The literacy rate is defined as persons over the age of fifteen with the ability to read and write. Of the 7,051 inhabitants, 99% meet this rule.
The educational system of Saint Pierre and Miquelon follows that of France.
