Since March 2 of this year, around 10,600 students between the ages of 15 and 16 have been chosen to take the PISA (Programme for International Student Assessment) tests in 231 Portuguese schools. The deadline to perform the tests ends this Friday. The study by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) aims to assess reading, mathematics and scientific literacies in around 80 countries. According to data from the Instituto de Avaliação Educativa (IAVE), a maximum of 53 students participate in each school. "In schools where the number of students is lower, all eligible students were selected to participate", the institution's source told JN. PISA tests were supposed to be carried out in 2021, but were postponed due to the covid-19 pandemic.
