The dates for the Learning Monitoring (MoDA) tests, final cycle tests, national final exams and attendance equivalence tests are now available.
This is a new external assessment model, with the big news for the next academic year being the holding of Learning Monitoring Tests in the 4th and 6th years for the subjects of Portuguese, Mathematics and a rotating subject every three years.
Therefore, 4th and 6th year students will take the new tests between May 19th and June 6th, 2025.
9th grade students will also take Portuguese and Mathematics tests, similar to previous years, but held digitally, in June (1st phase) and July (2nd phase).
There will also be schools where students will take national secondary school exams in digital format. The Ministry of Education intends to implement electronic grading in all cycles of Basic Education and, in Secondary Education, from 2025/2026, after a pilot in the next academic year.
The first phase of the national exams starts on June 17th, with the Portuguese exam, and ends on June 30th, with Mathematics. The 2nd phase starts on July 18th, with Portuguese and ends on the 24th, the day of the foreign language exams.
The proposed calendar for the external evaluation will be subject to public consultation in August.
