The Board of Secondary Education (BSE) in Odisha has announced a significant update for candidates who recently took the High School Certificate (HSC) examinations.
According to BSE president Srikant Tarai, students can expect to receive digital certificates within 7 days of the results being declared.
Speaking to reporters here on Saturday, Tarai revealed that this year marks the debut of digital certificates, a move aimed at streamlining the process and enhancing accessibility for students. The certificates will be available for download from the official website within a week of the results being announced.
Furthermore, Tarai announced a notable change regarding the issuance of hard copy of certificates. Instead of the previous timeframe of one month, students can now collect hard copies from their respective schools within 15 days of the result declaration.
Assuring timely declaration of results for the HSC examinations 2024, Tarai informed that the evaluation process commenced on March 14. With measures in place, including the engagement of around 16,235 teachers across 55 evaluation centres statewide, the board aims to conclude the evaluation by March 28.
Acknowledging potential challenges due to teacher engagement in general elections, BSE vice-president Nihar Mohanty affirmed their commitment to adhere to the schedule. He assured that the evaluation process would not be disrupted due to any shortage of teachers.
This year witnessed over 5.62 lakh students appearing for the Matriculation examination, conducted by BSE between February 20 and March 4. Despite logistical hurdles, the board remains steadfast in ensuring a seamless and timely evaluation process, underscoring their dedication to maintaining educational standards in Odisha.
