IES students once again perform very well in the national exams. This is shown by the results that have now arrived from the National Education Agency. As in recent years, the correspondence between final grades and results on the national exams is greater for IES than for the country.
- We are happy that the work that our teachers, principals and academic managers put in to ensure correct and fair grading is successful, but it is a work that never ends, says Annakarin Johansson Sandman, Head of Academics at International English School.
In Swedish, mathematics, Swedish as a second language and English, IES students have greater agreement between the final grades and the national test results than the national average. The percentage of students who received a higher grade than the result on the national test is lower than in the country as a whole. The percentage of IES students whose test results match their final grades has also increased since the previous school year.
The national tests are an important instrument for assessing students' knowledge and for ensuring correct and equivalent grading. Therefore, the International English School has long spoken of the need for central correction of the national tests and is now happy that the government intends to speed up the transition.
