The
Ministry of Education has adopted two measures related to the digitization of its processes: one concerns entry to colleges and universities, the other to the conclusion of Higher Education.
On the one hand, the next
National High School Examination
(Enem) will serve as a pilot for the application of a digital exam.
On the other hand, all federal institutions of higher education will be able to issue digital degrees.
The intention of
Inep
, which is responsible for Enem, is for the exam to become completely digital by 2026. The announcement was made by the General Coordinator of Exams for Certification of the body, Eduardo Sousa, who explained that 100,000 students will take
the exam digital version and that the result can be used to apply for vacancies in colleges and universities.
In all, Enem had more than 5.7 million confirmed registrations.
“Participants can rest easy.
The entire structure that we are preparing for the digital Enem will follow the same quality as the regular application, which is the paper application ”, guarantees Sousa.
The Covid-19 pandemic forced MEC to anticipate its discussions on the digital Enem, which began in 2016. The planning of the application of the exam had to conform to the biosafety rules stipulated by the Ministry of Health and international organizations.
In the pilot, the test correction system will also be used to identify asymmetries between paper tests and tests done on the computer.
The idea is that no student will benefit from the chosen exam format and that the tests have the same level of difficulty.
Digital diploma
For those who are already graduating, digitalization comes in the form of red tape.
The Minister of Education, Milton Ribeiro, launched the Diploma Digital service, which will allow the issuance and storage of the document entirely in electronic format.
The measure applies to all 69 federal universities and 41 institutions in the federal professional and technological education network.
Teaching units have until the end of 2021 to start issuing the digital diploma.
The adoption of the technology will also offer greater authenticity of the document, preventing fraud and forgery.
"Many universities already have this certification, but we have to centralize it and, later, even open it for private companies", explains the minister.
The first educational institutions to participate in the implementation of the Digital Diploma were the Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB) and the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN).
