Education CS George Magoha has assured candidates studying in insecurity prone areas that KNEC would consider their plight when marking the national exams.
Education Cabinet Secretary (CS) George Magoha has said there would be special considerations for candidates from areas that have been hit by insecurity during marking.
Magoha announced the special consideration for Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) candidates while in Nyeri.
The education CS was speaking at Mahiga Girls High School when he said all learners children would be treated equally, Citizen TV reported.
Gov't aware of difficult circumstances Magoha said the government was aware that some children were learning under very difficult circumstances, which would be considered during marking.
Magoha further noted the government was considerate about how learning had also been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. He also assured that every candidate would sit their exams despite issues of insecurity in some regions in the country.
Ministry of Education, Interior to work together The Ministry of Education will work with the Ministry of Interior to ensure the situation in Lamu is contained. Most schools along the Kerio Valley belt, which cuts across Elgeyo Marakwet, West Pokot and Baringo counties, have been affected by banditry activities.The activities have disrupted education, with some closing due to insecurity.
