The Quebec Ministry of High Education announced research, lab work and other in-class activities that are deemed essential will be allowed during the winter semester.
Universities and CEGEPs are being encouraged to offer online learning to students as much as possible for the winter semester, Danielle McCann, Quebec’s Minister of Higher Education, announced on Friday.
The 8 p.m. nightly curfew will apply to these institutions for the next four weeks, too.
However, research, lab work and other in-class activities that are deemed essential will be allowed on campus. Libraries will remain open.
“Over the past few months, students and all staff in higher education have shown exceptional and exemplary resilience,” McCann said.
Psychological counselling will be available to those students in distress, she added.
