The government will be able to adapt the terms of the 2021 baccalaureate and other exams depending on the evolution of the Covid-19 epidemic up to two weeks before the start of the tests, thanks to an order published in the official journal.
The text concerns the “modalities for issuing higher education diplomas, including the baccalaureate” , to which the government can now make “adaptations” throughout the year 2021.
"With regard to the tests for examinations or competitions, these adaptations may relate, while respecting the principle of equal treatment of candidates, to their nature, number, content, coefficient or organizational conditions, which may in particular be carried out in a dematerialized manner ” , provides for the ordinance.
The changes must be communicated "within a period of time which cannot be less than two weeks before the start of the tests," she specifies. This also concerns certain competitions or examinations in higher education and the civil service.
On Monday, government spokesman Gabriel Attal summed up the spirit of this ordinance at the exit of the Council of Ministers.
"It is a question of anticipating and allowing us to adapt to the needs, the methods of the competitions and the examinations of access to higher education, of obtaining diplomas and access to the public service" , had explained Gabriel Attal.
"This ordinance includes […] the baccalaureate and therefore allows it to be adapted if the health situation requires it" , he added.
Common assessments are canceled.
To take into account the consequences of the health crisis on the conditions of preparation for the baccalaureate, the Minister of National Education had already announced measures , "on an exceptional basis" , for this year 2020-2021, where the new bin.
The common evaluations (formerly called E3C) planned in Première and Terminale are canceled in favor of continuous assessment thanks to the taking into account of the grades of the school report.
This measure concerns history-geography, modern languages and the specialty that is not pursued in Terminale, as well as mathematics for the technological path and scientific education for the general path.
The final exams on specialty courses scheduled for mid-March are maintained.
