Egypt is set to establish the National Authority for Accreditation and Quality Insurance in Vocational Training and Technical Learning. Three Egyptian ministries are working to draw up a draft law that organises the new authority’s work and sets its functions.
Egypt is set to establish the National Authority for Accreditation and Quality Insurance in Vocational Training and Technical Learning, the Ministry of Planning announced in a statement on Monday.
The ministers of education, workforce, planning and economic development discussed the establishment of the authority in a meeting held on Monday.
During the meeting, Minister of Education Tarek Shawky said the new authority will improve technical learning and will apply the German accreditation to pave the way for scaling up the technical learning quality, in addition to providing a chance for the technical learning alumni to obtain job opportunities abroad.
Workforce Minister Mohamed Saafan said that the authority will contribute to providing trained and skilled labour consistent with international standards in order to meet internal and external market requirements, especially with the increasing demand on Egyptian labour in external markets.
Minister of Planning and Economic Development Hala El-Said said that the Egyptian state pays significant attention to achieving inclusive economic reform in all sectors, especially in vocational training and technical learning.
