The 2025 College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) will take place on November 14. Following last year, the so-called "killer questions" (ultra-high-level questions) are excluded this year, and attention is being paid to how much the expansion of "N students" due to the increase in medical schools will affect the difficulty.

On the 30th, the Korea Institute of Curriculum and Evaluation announced a "detailed plan for the implementation of the SAT for the 2025 school year."

The institute in charge of the questions said it will thoroughly exclude "killer questions" in accordance with the "private education reduction measures" announced by the Ministry of Education in June last year and maintain proper discrimination in the scope of public education.

This year's CSAT test areas are Korean, mathematics, English, Korean history, inquiry (social, science, occupation), and second foreign language/Chinese language, which are the same as last year. Under the "integrated SAT" system introduced from the 2022 school year, the "common subject + elective subject" structure will be applied to the Korean and mathematics areas.

Examinees must choose between "Writing and Writing" and "Language and Media" from the Korean language. In mathematics, the test is taken by choosing one of probability and statistics, calculus, and geometry.

In the field of social and scientific inquiry, you can choose up to two out of 17 elective subjects regardless of social and scientific distinction, and up to two out of six subjects in the field of vocational inquiry. Just like last year, English, Korean history, and the second foreign language/Chinese area are absolutely evaluated this year.

The "indirect" method will be maintained to link EBS CSAT textbooks and lectures with CSAT questions. Instead of asking questions or fingerprints from the textbook as they are, important concepts and principles are used and fingerprints are transformed and reconstructed. The linkage rate itself is maintained at 50% based on the number of questions by area/subject.

The preparation, reception, and change of the application form for the CSAT will be from August 22 to September 6 for each test district. The score sheet will be distributed until December 6. Students can receive their applications at the school they are attending, and graduates or test takers can receive them at the institution where they have received the application.

Students who did not take the CSAT due to natural disasters, diseases, and reasons such as the final passing of the occasional recruitment and enlistment will receive applications from November 18th to 22nd and refund some of the application fees.

The fee for taking the CSAT is 37,000 won for taking "less than four areas," 42,000 won for "five areas" and 47,000 won for "six areas." If the examinee is a national basic living recipient or the second lowest level legal group, the application fee is exempted.
